About the Author

Steve Curry is a relatively new author with ten novels in his first series of Norse flavored Contemporary Fantasy books. If you loved Vikings, or the Last kingdom... enjoy humor from sarcastic ravens, or the tension of a vengeful Valkyrie... or if are intrigued by supernatural creatures and situations then you might grab a Valhalla AWOL novel and check it out.

Now he's embarking on a journey to learn the mystical art of audio book narration. This was prompted by years of commentary about the rich tones of his deep and resonant voice. Steve has a mild Texas Drawl that works great for dry humor, westerns, adventure tales and more. His passion for reading gives him insight into multiple genres of fiction and nonfiction.

Steve's reading meanders from Alistair MacLean's war, espionage and thriller books, to Louis L' Amour's vast body of Westerns. Between multiple bookshelves and his kindle account, Steve has several hundred books in those genres along with Contemporary Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Detective novels, Dystopia, SciFi, Epic Fantasy and more.

Before he was a writer, Steve wandered around America as a travelling respiratory therapist. So he has a lot of experience and understanding of medical topics and themes. Of course time in the medical field has some drawbacks, like a general darkening of an already dry and arid sense of humor.

Prior to the medical field he was a Le Cordon Bleu certified chef. As such, he cooked for thousands of people at a time as well as serving intimate gatherings. He cooked for celebrities from Avenged Seven Fold to Rob Zombie, TV stars, sports figures, and people who were mostly famous for being famous. One of his favorite anecdotes involved Ted Turner who popped his head into a kitchen to tell Steve that he had just made one of the best desserts the well-travelled billionaire had ever eaten.

Steve's earlier years encompassed everything from The Us Army's Nuclear-Biological-Chemical branch, to selling used cars and digging in the muck as a plumber's helper. With a rich lifetime of experience he can understand and breathe life into a wide range of characters and situations. And his history as a published author lends that inner ear and some understanding of what the writer might want in a narrator. Oh, Steve also speaks a wee bit of several languages and dialects.
